Estate Tasting Experience
1.5 Hours | $50 Per Guest
6-8 Guest Maximum
The Estate Tasting is an introduction to the Pence Vineyards wines, highlighting the vineyard both as a whole and as the sum of its parts.
Your experience begins at our century old reclaimed barn that is our tasting room. Your personal sommelier will greet you with a taste of estate rosé to liven your spirit and prime your palate.
You will tour the estate, learn about its history, our organic and low intervention farming methods and how our wines reflect the vineyard site and its unique terroir.
Returning to the tasting room and the outdoor deck with views of the vineyard, your sommelier will describe the flight of wines you will taste. As you begin your tasting journey, your sommelier will happily answer any questions you might have.
The wines selected for The Estate Tasting Experience features wines typically blended from various vineyard blocks. The conversation will focus on demonstrating how balance is achieved by marrying wine lots that express different aspects of the estate.

Penny Tasting Experience
1.5 Hours | $75 Per Guest

The Penny tasting highlights our highest quality and smallest case production wines. The name “Penny” is a reminder that some of the best things in life are the smallest and you will discover our Penny wines are well-named.
Greeted by your personal sommelier and a taste of estate rosé you will immediately sense the relaxing and intimate nature of this experience. Once refreshed, your will begin your journey with a private, guided tour of the vineyard. You will walk the ground where the wines are grown and hear about the influence of microclimate, soil type, sun aspect, and clonal selection on our block-designate wines.
With this information top-of-mind, the tour is followed by a curated tasting of our exclusive single-block, Penny label wines. Your tasting is held on the deck of the tasting room, where you can enjoy the view of the vineyards you walked.
This is an immersive and in-depth experience for those who relish learning the details of each wine in order to walk away with a real understanding of what makes Pence wines so unique.

Library Tasting Experience
2 Hours | $100 Per Guest
6 Guest maximum
The Library Tasting is for the collector and connoisseur. It is a deep dive into the age-ability of Pence wines, stemming from our Santa Rita Hills climate, unique terroir, and Burgundian-based farming and vinification processes.
Your experience begins with a personalized vineyard tour with your personal sommelier, setting the stage for this in-depth tasting experience.
Hosted in our Heritage private room, featuring a multitude of seating options, your personal sommelier and educator, will guide you as you investigate the ways our wines develop aromatically and texturally over time, comparing selections aged from four to ten years in bottle.
Your experience is customizable to either concentrate on Chardonnay or Pinot Noir or a mix of both. This 2-hour experience is an intimate educational experience into how the every detail of Pence’s philosophy and the Burgundian inspired obsession of the classic vigneron nurturing the land to creates exceptional wine that can age for decades.

Terroir Tasting Experience
2 Hours | $150 Per Guest
6 guest maximum
The Terroir tasting is our most comprehensive experience on the Pence Estate. There is no better way to experience the land than being immersed directly in our 42 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Greeted by your personal sommelier you will start out with a splash of our estate rosé at our tasting room. Refreshed, you’ll accompany your personal Sommelier to begin your intimate exploration of our vineyard estate.
Once in the vineyard and amongst the vines, you will walk the ground where the wines are grown and discuss the influence of microclimate, soil type, sun aspect, and clonal selection on our block-designate wines. Plus, you will learn about our farming philosophies, sustainable practices and goals as a vigneron.
Once back at the tasting room you will be hosted in our private Heritage Room to experience membership exclusive wines.
