As a young man, Daniel emigrated from Mexico, looking for a better life and the wealth of opportunities this country offers. For fifteen years, he lived and worked at a cutting horse ranch in Los Olivos, where he learned the business of breeding, training and competing at the highest levels. Daniel and Blair came together when Blair purchased that property in 1998, resulting in Daniel’s promotion to ranch manager. The two continue to breed cutting horses and have been an inseparable team ever since.
Daniel has tremendous people skills and an uncommon work ethic that endears him to everyone he meets. As the ranch’s general manager, he takes responsibility for all aspects of our operations at our properties, supervising twelve full time employees. In addition to his farming duties, Daniel looks over our livestock and cattle breeding, as well as our avocado orchard in Lompoc. He loves the land and epitomizes the holistic life of a farmer and rancher.
Daniel lives on the ranch with his wife, Rosa. An accomplished rider and trainer, he enjoys practicing his horsemanship skills when not in the vineyard.
